MOBFOOD PPS4 – Nutrition, Health and Well-Being

Research and development of nutritionally balanced and innovative food products with nutritional claims.

Decorgel is once again, involved on a major national project taking an active role on the Consortium of MOBFOOD – “Mobilizing scientific and technological knowledge in response to the challenges of the agri-food market”, in association with 43 entities representing the Portuguese Agri-food sector. The project aims to promote new growth strategies based on the sector’s technological and innovative capacities that will lead to new products, services, processes and technologies throughout the value chain. The project’s goals will be achieved by promoting the cooperation between enterprises and research institutions in the three main areas: Food Safety and Sustainability, Food for Health and Well-being and Quality and Safe Food Production. MobFood seeks to have a food industry that manages resources efficiently and is sustainable, interlinked, transparent, resilient, safe and consumer-centric.

In the WP4 – Nutrition, Heath and Well-Being, Decorgel works in association with food sector companies and research centers aiming to develop food products specially suited to the millennial generation. This generation, around 25% of the Portuguese population, is associated to many eating disorders related to the broad food availability and living habits. Focusing on this problem, WP4 aims to develop balanced food products for this generation, as long as targeting special nutrient enrichment, better suited to its lifestyle and food intake.

This project’s challenges reflect the degree of innovation that we seek to our products, but also the constant vigilance for new methods, ingredients and technologies that allow us to offer better and healthier solutions to our clients, in a responsible, efficient and sustainable way.
