Research and development of methodologies to make explicit the origin and quality of food products.
Decorgel is once again, involved on a major national project taking an active role on the Consortium of MOBFOOD – “Mobilizing scientific and technological knowledge in response to the challenges of the agri-food market”, in association with 43 entities representing the Portuguese Agri-food sector. The project aims to promote new growth strategies based on the sector’s technological and innovative capacities that will lead to new products, services, processes and technologies throughout the value chain. The project’s goals will be achieved by promoting the cooperation between enterprises and research institutions in the three main areas: Food Safety and Sustainability, Food for Health and Well-being and Quality and Safe Food Production. MobFood seeks to have a food industry that manages resources efficiently and is sustainable, interlinked, transparent, resilient, safe and consumer-centric.
On WP6 – “Authenticity and traceability”, Decorgel works together with other companies and research centers in the development of new qualification methodologies of “Alcobaça IGP” apples and “Rocha DOP” pears using new analytical techniques that allow the authenticity validation on these national added value endogenous fruits. With this, aiming the assurance on their traceability and the existing certification methodologies, reinforcing the individuality and exclusivity associated to these national fruits.
This project’s challenges reflect the degree of innovation that we seek to our products, but also the constant vigilance for new methods, ingredients and technologies that allow us to offer better and healthier solutions to our clients, in a responsible, efficient and sustainable way.
